A new kayaking destination
Monday 22 May
We are enjoying a beautiful spell of weather at present, and so with a lovely day in store, we loaded up the kayaks and drove up to a new destination, Paint creek State Park, near Bainbridge Ohio, about 1 hour and 30 minutes drive, in the lower foothills of the Appalachians. There are two creeks which feed into the lake, Paint creek and Rattlesnake Creek. We followed Paint creek, and after a couple of miles paddling, you come to the striking limestone cliffs shown in my collage. It was a beautiful paddle, with masses of yellow wildflowers, wonderful reflections and peace and quiet.
We’ll definitely return!
