It's a fantastic bit of sculpture, and the way the lighting fell on it was delightful.   It's actually a colour shot, but it is almost mono.  A little irreverent to quote the Life of Brian, but those Python chaps made it very hard for me to look at this sort of religious iconography and take it seriously (with apologies to anyone who this offends).

We've arrived in Arras, ready for the final leg of the journey home.  We might have planned to come home today, but for the fact that it's a Bank Holiday weekend and the roads around London are no doubt absolutely rammed as I blip this.  So instead we've had a day visiting the city's art galleries and cathedral.  The cathedral was heavily damaged during the First World War and has effectively been rebuilt.  There's a suitably solemn war memorial to the 1m British Empire personnel who lost their live in the conflict. 

There's also some rather nice murals and ceiling art, I've blipped the ceiling from the main dome as the extra.
