A small town nearby

Mareuil-sur-Lay passed through on a number of occasions, today we decided to stop and wander. The road was busy, it was quieter when walking along the side lanes such as the one in the main photo. A picturesque area running along side the river although a sign told us it was liable to flooding - a word I had to look up once back at the house.

The extra show an impressive church although a barrier surrounded the entrance. The river was flowing quietly today, all looking quaint, apart from the traffic.

A few Kms from the house is a bakery we have come across where the bread is very good, we will test the croissants tomorrow morning.
