Howick Hall & gardens - the home of Earl Grey tea!

Another lovely house and pretty gardens. Charles, 2nd Earl Grey commissioned a Chinese mandarin to blend a tea suitable for the water at Howick. They didn’t register a trademark so Twinings started to market it and it’s now sold worldwide but the family don’t receive any royalties.
A little church in the grounds displays nearly 90 tapestry kneelers - the Grey family one is in the extra.
