Masks

Today was another long drive en route to a workshop in Early Childhood for two days from tomorrow. Its being held along the lower lake shore at Mangochi! It was a very hot drive along the lakeshore and I was glad to see my destination in sight! On the way there were many blip opportunities of course but its not advisable to use a camera when driving.

As I turned off the main road to Mangochi, I found these guys. There is a catholic mission near here called Mua which was set up to enable the Kungoni heritage to be remembered. (Ngoni are one of the tribes found in Malawi. At Mua there is a carpentry workshop where all weird and wonderful objects can be found. I bought one or two of them myself over the years. Here is todays sample on the roadside - I didn't buy any!!

Tonight it has been really frustrating trying to upload this picture - the internet here is even worse than at home!! Success at last I hope.
