Cast yer clout

Ne'er cast a clout (cloth) afore May is out...so our Grannies said...can be interpreted as the month of May or the blossom of the hawthorn...I prefer to keep thermals handy to protect my old thin frame against frequent cold winds and variable Scottish temperatures...maybe Grannies were been tougher unbecoddled by central heating :)
