Here they are….

The 2nd last week of May is usually, apart from the occasional weather event, the best week to see the Kinclaven Wood bluebells.  We’ve come here so many years to witness the beauty and intoxicating scent of millions of bluebells, set off by the majestic old trees, with the fresh bright green new leaves.  The birdsong is the final accompaniment to walking in this blue and green paradise.

In 2017 the Woodland Trust bought the land and they have taken down old and dying trees, planted hundreds more native trees, and just finished eradicating the invasive non native rhododendron bushes.  They have added another longer walk at the top fields, built a massive car park meaning that more people can enjoy the wood.  It’s beautiful at all times of the year , but just now , it’s really special. I love this wood.  Who could not fail to be Instantly calmer and less stressed walking here.

It’s been the feature of many blips of mine over the years.  Picnics with the boys, walks with Breagha and even of throwing myself into the air on the big rope on a stick swing.

And of course , no photo ever does it justice.

We stopped of at the restaurant Uisage at Murthly and sat outside with a coffee and a scone then a trip to the garden centre for some geraniums, compost and a couple of bargain ready made pots of petunias.

All afternoon was spent gardening. It was a gorgeous day.

I was even productive in the evening making strawberry jam.  Before I knew it 10 o’clock was here and I was ready to fall into bed.

Oh, and sad to hear about Tina.  Total icon, legend and all round superstar.  She exuded power!  Loved her.  What a woman, what a comeback.
