At last sunshine from the off this morning. Did some laundry then headed off to Mortonhall garden centre to get some new window box plants. Always feels a bit odd to take out the spring things when they’re kind of in their prime, but they were starting to get leggy and I know won’t last much longer, plus the summer ones need to get established asap. Bought some mixture of stuff then home to plant it all up….done and all cleared up in half an hour!
Wasn’t sure about a bike ride so instead went for a walk and a sit in the sun in the Meadows, listening to Demon Copperhead, our next book group book.
Home for an early supper then out to my soap making workshop at Dook in Portobello. Had no idea of all the ‘saponification’ process so it was interesting to learn about it, and we all had fun choosing fragrances and colours (although my goodness the number of possible configurations was mind blowing!)
Bit of a rush towards the end but enjoyed making the two different types, although I was somewhat mortified to spill not only the mandarin oil but also some of my molten salt soap.
Looking forward to collecting the finished products!
