Portrait
... of my father as a young man.
The war to end all wars was over, happy days were still "here again", and the Great Depression, though just around the corner, hadn't touched the day to day life of a small mill town in New England yet. For my father life was good and his future bright. Life would take its toll soon enough but at that moment, in his high school portrait, he "knew that he would never die, that life could do no harm, he wore his youth for all to see, a magic golden charm".
Going through family photos to set aside ones I'd like to see hand colored. This is definitely at the top of my list ... and the adventure continues.
