All the King's Men..?

Today we went to Kiplin Hall, it was built in 1619 for George Calvert the founder of Maryland, USA. We have been regular visitors over the pass year. 

It has a strong volunteer membership who help visitors enjoy and understand the rooms of the house. I wasn't surprised to pass the first room guide giving a full account to a couple. We moved onto the next room and our daughter commented that the guide looked familiar. 

Well it turns out he was a neighbour we lived near back in the late 1980s down in Orpington, Kent, our daughters had been class mates in junior school and we were both in the police. We now live within miles of each other in and around Northallerton!

What a small world...
