Fallen beauty

The flowers from this rhododendron are rapidly falling into the long grass of no-mow May.
A visit to our local community library/cafe in the morning led to an unexpected black hole of time! Driving home after a bit of socialising, Nick and I encountered a delay in the road less than a mile from home…..roadworks! Nick decided to jump ship (car) and walk home while I waited for the predicted half to one hour delay. In actual fact, it turned out to be only fifteen minutes or so and it was well worth it when I saw the lovely new stretch of road which completely covers all the dreadful potholes that we had been weaving through for several months now.
