Skip brick history

Saw a skip full of bricks on our walk this evening, some of which had brick marks. Prestongrange & Whitehill collieries had brick kilns operating from the late 1700s to late 1970s, from what I’ve found in a brief investigation. Whitehill won an award for the finest brickworks too.

I wish I had a home for them. Maybe someone will be inspired to rehome a few overnight, rather than sending them to the tip.
