The Starling Gang

A flock of about 15-20 starlings (mostly youngsters) descended on the garden early this morning. I managed to grab a shot of some of them…taken through the kitchen window. The TZ90 was close to hand, so apologies for the appalling quality of the image. In my defence, they were all moving about so quickly that motion blur was inevitable. In this group one adult was on the suet feeder just out of shot at the top..it was pecking furiously at the suet and the youngsters were picking up the crumbs.

Mrs madwill wanted to get out to spend some birthday ‘vouchers’ from Hobby Craft and Hotel Chocolat - so I was ‘invited’ on the trip out to Monks Cross and Designer Outlet. Declining the invitation was of course not an option (you understand)…so I went along to do a lot of sitting and standing outside various stores. We did have a Costa coffee and a snack..including a free cake for a Mrs madwill’s birthday - which we shared.
