Miles Away

This week our town has been wrecked emotionally by a death of a wonderful person. Aric Potter was one of a kind he lost his life at only 19 years old. He passed away on May 26th 2013. Just being around him could make anyone happy. I met him when I was in 8th Grade and he was in 6th Grade in 2005. We had met at the first baptist church in Siloam Springs by mutual friends. He was so short then he really looked younger then a 6th grader. From 2005 to 2009 we were close friends but eventually grew apart and did not talk much. I'll never forget the good times hanging with him and Brittany Houston at church we were a trio of friends on Wednesday nights always staying close to each other. In the summer of 2007 and 2008 we went on a church trip to a camp called Area One. I remember playing in the pool with him and other friends. Those days are full of great memories and its sad to think about not having days like that back. Aric and me had a lot of memories at church but we also worked together in 2 high school plays. The last time I actually saw him was actually unexpected. I was hanging at the park with 2 girls and he and another friend were there to do a skit and I was actually part of the skit. We weren't really good friends by that point and I believe that happened in 2011. Aric was a treasure to the entire community of Siloam Springs He was a great friend a good actor and so much more. Its hard to think about him being gone because I would have loved to have become great friends with him again. Rest In Peace, Aric Tyler Potter
