Active Pass

It’s Victoria Day tomorrow in Canada and a long holiday weekend.  A month ago when we tried to make ferry reservations, many were sold out (!) so we had to book  this midday one which was 90 minutes longer going first to Otter Bay on Pender Island before going back to our Studies Bay, Galiano Island stop.   But what the heck…it was a gorgeous warm day to sit outside and since our sailing days, we don’t spend any time here.   So you get Active Pass, looking west, just after the loud long horn blast from the ferry caused that sailboat to abruptly change course.    I know several blippers who have done this route, but will try to put to on the map.    Watched for orcas but no luck.  There were no dock carts available at the marina which was crawling with people, so it took 5 (me) and 8 (H) trips to carry our stuff to the boat.   But we had time.  Lucked out again with the  weather, had  a bite to eat on the deck watching the heron on our point.    

Backblipped as blip was not working last night!

Added an extra :coming back from Otter Bay, showing Galiano and Parker Island, for a few of you who actually have been on this route.  That white house you can see  (no way can it be called a cabin) is on the south end of 'our' island.  We are on the north end.   so you were pretty close...!
