Heading Home

After a very happy and productive weekend at Ruth's.  At 915pm at around 1000ft up, on the pass between Dinas Mawddwy and Cross Foxes I stopped (a convenient parking area) to give Meg a walk.   It was short as despite an initial gate onto the footpath, subsequent fences were crossed by high stiles not to our liking.   The views made up for the brevity and we had a longer stroll to the seafront when we got home a bit later.

An extra pic - collage - showing the major achievements at Ruth's.  A massive bamboo cutting revealed half the back fence for the first time, a new raised bed, built by Ruth mostly from reused pieces of decking and a second pallet collar raised bed out front.   As well as reusing a lot of soil from last years pots, fourteen 25L bags of topsoil and a big bag of rotted farmyard manure provided the fill for the new installations.  I shall sleep well after my bath tonight!   We ended by celebrating my birthday - a day early - with Ben & Jerry's ice cream topped off with sparklers :-)

Growing old is a funny business.  I came across this clip of Barry Humphries talking as himself, about aging echoing some of my own feelings.   A rare genius imho, the clip of Dame Edna gate-crashing the Royal Box at a Royal Variety Show ends after a flunky whispers something in her ear and she turns to Charles and Camilla apologetically saying "They've found me a better seat" :-)
