Close Encounters

Wanted to do something different for Close Encounters so here it is - rain on the rattan table - with apologies to Oscar Greeley Clendenning Hammerstein II, and of course, Julie Andrews.

Please sing to the Tune "My Favourite Things":

Raindrops on rattan
And pools on the decking,
Clouds in the sky
We won't see the sun setting,
Anoraks, scarves, big umbrellas in May?
This is the summer throughout the UK.

When the wind blows
And the sea heaves
All the surfers are glad -
But most of the people
And all of the children
Are sitting indoors -
So sad!!!!

Rain is still falling,
The beach is deserted,
Only the surfers
Keep Lifeguards alerted,
Jumping and surfing and shouting with glee
Only these guys are enjoying the sea!

When the wind blows........

Ah well, can't be defeated by this weather, so off to put on my anorak and scarf - will probably get quite wet as I have no umbrella!! :-(   Who said we English aren't resilient?

P.S.  Since writing the above, I have been down to the beach and have spoken to the Lifeguards who said that they are RNLI Lifeguards and what a fantastic job they do too!
