Acer davidii

Snake bark acer, bought for its bark, but has a few rather pretty red flowers.

It may be "no mow May", but I'm afraid that's impractical here.  Husky is working 12hrs a day though we have laid the boundary wires so that there's a smallish area at the front of the garden that is left unmowed.

Meanwhile, we've spent several hours this morning mowing and raking the part of the garden he can't reach - we've maybe done ¼ of what we need to mow.  Hoping that we can get it sufficiently under control that we can mow and mulch, rather than having to take the clippings up to the composting area at the back of the garden.

After that, I managed some flute playing, but no sewing today.
