Back in Yachats
I’m down at the coast with Sue, at the little cabin her father built. The drive down (4.5 hours) was a nightmare. Heavy traffic from Portland to the turnoff for the coast. We heard that about half an hour after we left the main highway, a horrible pile-up crash happened. Seven dead. The luck of the draw, it could have been any of us.
We were exhausted when we arrived, but we had to go down to the ocean to breathe in the sea air, to stumble around on the rocks gazing into tide pools. Bliss. Each time we congratulate each other, “We made it down one more time!”
We have no wifi or cell phone connectivity unless we come to town and sit in the coffee shop, so I’ve turned comments off and will not be able to comment much for the next 5 days.
