Bambino (Mini) Bougainvilleas

A quick Blip today so you guessed it another flower from our garden.

VIEW IN LARGE

We love bougainvilleas but the normal variety runs rampant in most gardens if let go! So we went for the Bambino - Only growing to about 1.5 metres this new "mini" variety was introduced in Australia in 1997.

They can be used in the garden in essentially the same way as a flowering azalea or a rose but with the advantage that, unlike roses or azaleas, bougainvilleas thrive in tropical climates. They are also suited to growing in a large pot or hanging basket.

So enjoy - we are heading into Sydney for a few days to take in the Vivid laser light show on the Opera House and other spots.
