Poppy for Memorial Day

Poppies are for Veterans Day, honoring the end of World War I, but Memorial Day started with the Civil War remembrance and has been extended to all American casualties in war, has no particular flower that I know of. But tonight, after a rainy day, the poppy looked best on my walk
