Black Crowned Night Heron

Kayaked with Kathy on the Waits River out into the Connecticut River.  It was a glorious day on the water.  We saw a lot of birds.  I have never seen a Night Heron on the CT River before so this was a thrill!!
We also saw an American Bittern, back in the swamping area of the Waits.  Its been 3 years since I've seen one so again, silent whoops of joy. Bittern in extra.
