Before The Storm

We had a long overdue visit today from our old friends P & K. I was best man at their wedding eons ago, and P was my best man a few years later.

It was quite warm and sunny first thing so we had a catch up over coffee on the patio. We then drove into Bourton-on-the-Water for some lunch. It was still sunny then, though ominous dark clouds were gathering. We had a quick walk around the village after lunch, then the first few spots of rain came.

We got back to the car OK, but on the drive home it was clear there had been a heavy downpour in Northleach. Back at the house we had just one clap of thunder and then more rain. That was good news as it meant I don't have to water the new lavender plants this evening, or the areas of the lawn that have been reseeded and treated for weeds and moss.

After tea and part two of our catch up P & K have now set off for their home in Worcester.

I might have a nap when I have posted this :-)
