Ten White RoseS

It’s a lucky girl that gets a bouquet of white roses and an even luckier girl when they are presented to me from a man. Lest you get the wrong end of the stick, his wife was sitting beside him and so if he were an admirer he was on a short leash.

Nevertheless it was a lovely gesture from someone  the same age as my youngest offspring when we all met for an Ivy in the Square breakfast this morning.

We had a fun morning over our eggs on toast and it is a fact (at least for me) that when you are in the company of people the same age as your children you somehow stop being in the mother role and become an equal. Well that’s my take but who knows what they are thinking in my company . Perhaps something along the lines of here we are with someone with one foot in the grave and the other on a bar of soap.
I hope not.
