Blossoming a bit late

About two years ago, which really means four (as seemingly you should always add on two to your initial estimate), Mr Sm1th and I treated ourselves to a crab apple tree for the front garden. It has never failed to disappoint, as year after year it has never had any blossom and hence no fruit.

This year, now that he's not here to see it, it is flowering beautifully. The most beautiful dark red flowers. If it fruits, I intend to use every single apple, for him.
