The Thaliana Bridge

This is the recently installed Thaliana Bridge at the RHS Harlow Carr gardens.
The last time I visited, it was unfinished. The design of the bridge takes its cue from the plant Arabidopsis thaliana. According to the information board by the bridge, this was the first plant to have its genomes fully sequenced, and the large vertical steel fins vary in density and represent the sequenced RDA chromosome. Clever stuff!
The wooden deck and curved side wall are made from larch wood.
There is a view from across the lake in the extras.
