Waiting

There is an absolutely huge osprey nest on a post only a few feet from a major road in a neighboring town.  The birds return each year, and the nest continues to grow.  The actual depth is three times what is shown in this photo, and is home to several sparrows as well.  I watched for several minutes and saw no sign of chicks yet, but who knows, they have lots of space to hide.  It was so windy that I couldn't begin to keep my lens still so I compensated with a high shutter speed.
