Half a Century

Big event today was a 50th birthday bash for my new son-in-law's uncle - we are entering a whole new friendship circle - fascinating.

And what a bash. It was held at Pelsall Cricket Club (of which he is the chairman), founded in 1885. It started with simultaneous cricket matches and the largest BBQ I think I've ever been to, plus a bouncy castle and a chocolate fountain for the kids. And then inside for a band (Liquor and Poker - bit of double entendre there, I think) and dancing, with a break for a curry. Must have been over 200 folk there through the day.

This is the birthday boy having a quiet smoke in the bus shelter the club rescued for this purpose.
