At The Beach

Spending 3 days in Manzanita with Bar and Di. It's nice: coolish warmth. But it's also different since none of our others trips here have been this near to summer. It's already a lot more crowded, with the oddity that many restaurants and shops are closed because it is mid-week. None of this is a problem or a complaint. It is so, so nice to be out of town and just hanging together. The weekend was so overly hot and overly hectic with too many reminders of death and time zipping along. Much better to sit and knit and walk and eat and not worry a whit about anything but the right here and the right now.
