Civilizations
It costs a fortune to own a car in Singapore, but they have good public transport so you don't need one. My Aunt and Uncle (who we were staying with) don't own a car, so we ended up exploring a lot of the city on foot. It only took two days for my feet to become sore.
We went to the Asian Civilizations museum which explains many of the different cultures and religions of Singapore and south east Asia, what they are, where and when they came, how they fit together. I enjoyed the religious sculptures and artifacts very much. Of particular significance was a large Buddha head which was very powerful. He appeared to follow you with his gaze. It was actually difficult to pull away from that one.
The surprise hit for us was the absolutely beautiful Islamic manuscripts. Incredibly intricate and artisitc stuff.
In addition to the museum we also walked down to the waterfront past the famous Fullerton hotel and saw the Merlion.
