A damp day!
The racing Chris wanted to watch on the Billown course near Castletown was postponed this morning because of rain. It was our last day for using the travel pass so we took to the steam train again to go to Port Erin, in the south of the island, regardless. It was very wet when we arrived so after a very brief look at the bay we went into the Whistle Stop Cafe for coffee and Bonnag (said Broggan last time!) got the next train back to Douglas.
We headed for the museum which is excellent and I photographed this stained glass window which was a memorial presentation to T E Brown, the island poet, as the left hand panel is a representation of Dhoon Glen where we walked in such lovely weather yesterday.
By the time we came out it was dry with even a hint of sun and some racing had taken place on the Southern 100 course which Chris got to see. Whether racing or not there are bikes wherever you go as you can see here in this street below the museum.
Hope the rest of the UK enjoyed the sun today as the rain is on its way to you and hopefully our last day tomorrow will be fine.
