The Office Cat

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Kiwibank continues to reach new levels of absurdity, even in my last week.

In another rearrangement of deckchairs, I've been shuffled onto another team for my last two weeks. I met with blokey from other team the day I gave my notice (the 5th).

He agreed he would speak to me on the following Monday (8th) about the work I would be doing in my last ten days. I went into the office especially. He didn't turn up and when we met virtually, he said he'd send me the work on Tuesday (9th).

Tuesday came and went.

On Wednesday (10th) he gave a presentation on how he'd be giving me the work when he was in a position to give me the work. But he didn't give me the work.

On Friday (12th) we held a meeting so he could give me the work, but he wasn't ready again so he set up a meeting for first thing Monday (15th, yesterday). When he still wasn't quite ready.

So he rescheduled the meeting for today.

Today, he gave me the work! But not really. It needed to be supplemented with some additional information which he said he would send over later in the day.

Which he didn't.

I mean. It's not like I care particularly. But it's another example of how spectacularly bad Kiwibank are at doing ANY-EFFING-THING.

"Take me with you," is something a few BA's have said to me after I announced I would be leaving. I'm not kidding. Three of them have said it out loud now. One even submitted his CV to Kāinga Ora.

The others just look sad.

By contrast, Caro's office is way more fun. As evidenced here by Crashy the cat who came in tonight and played with her hands as she typed by patting them from the other side of the screen.

He likes this game. He often comes in to play "patty-hand". He really is a most lovable, chunky little orange chap.

As for me, I'm meeting Shahier for a movie tomorrow night, Briar, Christine and Akasha from Team Jess for breakfast on Thursday, Manda for lunch on Thursday, one of the sad Kiwibank BA's for breakfast on Friday and then it's supper club on Friday night.

My work life is picking up already. The end of this week (19th) cannot come fast enough.

S.
