All hope of being able to nurse him back to life, was shattered by reality when I got home and two of the three "stems" fell over with no sign that that they were ever attached to the soil. I didn't drive a high speed through any potholes or make any emergency stops - they just fell over at the idea of having to start growing again.

C added a layer of compost to the pot and put the two DOA's in a mug of water with a dash of optimism.
