Success!

Today we had better weather. I fixed the lock. (Huzzah!) I met my friend's husband and made a good impression. I took lots of pictures of this snake. This poor snake was minding its own business, on the railing, right next to the path, on the way to the park. Did people see the snake before I stopped and took photos? Because they definitely all seemed nervous to get past once they saw me taking photos. It isn't an enormous snake, there are bigger snakes, but it was pretty freaking big to be that close. Sam behaved perfectly because ... he's Samuel. 

There are reports that Russia lost FOUR military aircraft in one day. 

France promised more tanks and armored vehicles. 

Sweden won the Eurovision song contest. The grand final kicked off yesterday when last year's winner, the Ukrainian folk-rap band, Kalush Orchestra, opened the show in Liverpool.
