The grandeur of the tall weed!

Memories of Sir David Montgomery in my first learning months at CSCT, describing the sycamore as Scotland’s number one weed…it grows so freely in the right habitats especially across lowland Scotland given half a chance. The timber is useful, it grows fast and has a gorgeous scaly bark as it ages. This an older Gillies Hill survivor.
