Home again

Slept well in the highland air and was looking forward to our breakfast this morning. However it wasn’t the best. We arrived in the dining room 30 minutes before breakfast was due to finish and were obviously among the last to go down as the staff were in the middle of resetting the dining room for lunch. It’s not that they were unfriendly but pretty much ignored us and hadn’t replenished the glasses for the juice or bowls for cereal. We felt a little like an inconvenience to ge honest.

The hot food had obviously been there for some time and wasn’t the best quality but I guess it filled a hole!

We met up with our son and his wife who had enjoyed a rather better breakfast experience but were frustrated that their shower had produced the merest trickle of water and then dried up.

Enjoyed a nice cup of tea at my brother’s house and another chat before we headed off to drive back down the A9. There’s roadworks in Oerth so we cut across country and cane home via Crieff and Stirling. Back in Edinburgh in good time to collect Phin from doggy daycare. He’d enjoyed his wee mini break and surprised the owner when she woke this morning to find him beside her in bed with his head on the pillow!
