Crunch Game
Sunshine out the back again. So we sat with the back doors open awhile with our Saturday papers. Bacon rolls were rustled up and later, while the SK did a bit of gardening I wandered over to talk to Cigs who was on the beach while his gal paddleboarded well offshore.
For 'twas biggest day of football in our local team’s history (according to their programme) - The Spartans FC vs Albion Rovers - the first of two legs. At stake of course, a much coveted place in SPFL League 2. Such a draw that big Phil and MrW travelled all the way down from Shandon (though bP had a free ticket - his daughter being the ladies team goalie y’see). A glorious day for it and the crowds thronged in - over two thousand apparently. The brer-in-law was spotted as was an old pal, Mr Baxter who I gassed to at half time.
Match report, anyone? Nah, thought not. A great deal of howiztering balls in the general direction of the opponent’s goal. The stats reveal that Spartans had one shot on target. A trundler. It finished “honours even” - so “all still to play for.”
Later, Eurovision. I’d never heard of any of the bands.
