memory lane
Wandering around Southport today we popped into Wayfarer's Arcade. Massive memory lane visit for me. I am always sad that the "Humpty Dumpty shop" closed down.
Broadbents and Boothroyds is now called Beale's. The facade in the arcade at the back entrance remains though. Thank goodness it has kept it's old fashioned charm.
We went inside. It was like stepping back in time. Still a proper old fashioned department store.
My son looked around and said "This shop is very different"
It was sad looking at Southport. A lot of renovation needs doing to repair the grand Victorian awnings on Lord Street. Once grand buildings are now looking shabby.
With some common sense and TLC, it could still attract wealthy visitors.
