Paint Mines
The Paint Mines are about an hour outside of Colorado Springs. It’s an area of gorgeous rock and clay formations. The clay colors are vibrant . The clay was mined by Native Americans for paint. The yellow ochre and deep pink hues are simply gorgeous. There is mica everywhere so there is lots of sparkle. We had a fabulous day of hiking in this glorious, almost alien landscape.
Be blessed!
