Passing trains

Janet decided she wanted a quiet day at home, so I took Morrigan up through the Prestbury hills and ended up at Winchcombe and the Cotswold Steam Festival. Sadly, the event was ticket only and so I could only grab some shots from the over bridge.

It was interesting to see the ferocity of the fire on the 6999 Capel Dewi Hall, as she takes on passengers and the 7820 Dinmore Manor slides in alongside. For some reason both locomotives were hauling in reverse. I tried for the full head of steam as the 6999 pulled away under the bridge from which I was shooting, but as you can imagine all I got was a very grey exposure and a cough!

On the way back I grabbed a cod and chips from Simpsons in Cheltenham, which I ended up eating in the woods above Painswick! Best cod and chips I have had in many a year... not cheap, mind, but really good fish. As costs rise and quality diminishes it's good to come across a proper cod lot.
