Storm
I thought I would drive to Nancy Lake via Hatcher's Pass. It was mostly cloudy, there were patches of rain here and there.
The sign said that the pass was still closed, but I didn't believe it. It was warming up. The trees were starting to leaf out.
When I got to the pass, I looked back and knew why the pass was still closed. There are spring storms coming through and when it rains in the valley, it still snows up here.
Shortly after I took this photo, it began to snow. All that you see in black became white.
Needless to say, I didn't go through the pass, but went back the way I came. As I descended, I passed through snow, then freezing rain, then rain, then back to scattered clouds and some sun.
By the way, that's the Matanuska-Susitna Valley down there at the bottom of the pass. The collection of huts is Hatcher's Pass Lodge.
Now I am resting at Nancy Lake, catching up on my blip viewing.
