Sometimes a surprise!

Tuesday morning broke with some of the wild weather we had been promised but not as wild as forecast.
I was heading through Arthurs Pass going to Lake Tekapo and although my riding companion had intended to ride some of the way with me he decided the conditions in the Pass were not for him and he went back the we had come. He has a poorly wife so was only one night.
As I turned away from the west coast and got further into the Pass the wind died and the rain eased and although misty at the high points as I left Arthur's Pass Village the weather cleared and the sun came out even the roads were dry.

I stopped at Mayfield for lunch and while sitting there a house went by!
I was surprised to see it on the move during the day and looked new rather than a relocation. The Extra shows it heading out of town.

The ride through to Lake Tekapo was uneventful and after my friend turned we walked into town and a few drink and dinner in a delightful bar.

404 kms completed for the day.
