Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Intense

I blipped this little azalea last month just before it flowered, wondering if it would last until we got back from Turkey, as you can see it did! It's around 2 feet across and a little less than that high. I've put a blip of the whole thing on extras. It is such a beautiful plant. This picture was taken at about 8pm after a beautifully warm and sunny day, in the cooler and duller evening. It's straight out of the camera and still glowing.
It's been a lovely day today. After yesterday's miserable weather, the holiday washing all dried on the line and is put away.
We spent time in the garden this morning carrying out the interminable task of removing willowherb seedlings. I don't know where they come from but they are the bane of my life. No dandelions, buttercups or daisies just endless willowherb. I cleared out the pond pump today too while it is still relatively accessible, once the iris and lilies get going, access is more difficult. .
I picked up the girls today, lovely to see them, and took them to their swimming lesson at DSMC at 6pm. The pool is used by a swim academy and is completely full of groups of around 6 children each with their own, very young, swimming teacher. The girls are doing well though. Eilidh at 9yrs jumped straight in and started doing lengths of crawl. Isobel at 6 also jumped straight in and was managing several strokes alongside the barrier, resting then taking a few more. Both are doing well and very confident in the water.
We watched the first episode of the latest series of Guilt tonight, I could have done with a recap. Enjoyed the soundtrack.
