Scarlet Lily Beetles

And a whole heap of larvae arriving by the looks of things. Not happy to see these on the fritillaries this morning. I didn't hang around to get everything in perfect focus (as you can clearly see) before disposing humanely of the happy couple. To my knowledge I've never had these pests in the garden before and I'm surprised that a hungry bird hadn't had them for breakfast. 

I need to pop into town then I'll be back to put on gardening gloves and look for more bad beetle evidence. This evening I'm out with friends. In between I'll look at blip.
