PATRIOTIC

This is the Police Academy in the Suburb of Joondalup; pronounced June-dal-up, which is a name derived from the Indigenous "Noongar Tribe" who camped by Lake Joondalup, the first known recordings were around 1837, the land was only developed in the late 1980's to early 1990's, we have watched Joondalup develop and grow into the City it is today, its both recreational, Business and Residential, and in the heart of the City sits the Academy.
The four young cadets pictured by the standard flag poles marched out of the building this morning, one remained perfectly still on the left beneath Australia's State Flag, while the other three cadets from left to right marched first towards Western Australia's State Flag he faced the flag and remained there, another Cadet then marched and faced the Police Force Flag, the other Cadet then marched onto the Indigenous People's Flag, they simultaneously began to hoist the flags down except for the State Flag on the left, the three marched away faced their respective flag, all four then saluted and stood perfectly still, they then marched back to their respective flags together, except the cadet beneath the Australian State Flag who only moved when they all saluted! the three Cadets began to hoist their respective Flag up the standard! this showed to me a "Patriotic act", I happened to be in the right place bang on the right time for the blip..the lesson today? I would like to think we are all patriotic to our Country and fellow man! (Or another lesson, take your camera wherever you go!)
I am still trying to find out though why this procedure in the Academy today?
