Life through my eyes

First thing this morning I cancelled the order on the sofa (within 24 hours it was a full refund of the deposit). I felt a bit like we were over-paying, and then when I saw the leaflet in the brochure I was convinced. If another item was ordered at the same time as the first it was half price. So my logic was they won't be selling the second one at a loss, maybe just break even. So total for two items divided by two I felt was the right price, and we were paying £2,000 above that.

I was told they might call me, but I emailed back and said I was certain. I arranged for another company to come tomorrow.

This afternoon was another hospital transport procurement moderation meeting, but I had a phone call just before. It turns out they had a sofa in the warehouse almost identical (see extra) but leather (which was a lot more expensive) but they would let us have it for half price, and delivery in about a week rather than 6+ weeks. It's a lovely blue grey and nicer than the one we'd picked. I asked if they were open to offers and they were. I offered a £1,000 below their price, as a starting point, and as I thought we met in the middle, and it should be here in a week, maybe two.

I was agonising last night as it was something that was needed but was a large chunk out of my redundancy money A similar manual recliner (without rise is about £2,800) so I am now 'happy' with the price we've paid.

As I had the meeting this afternoon Jo is doing Friday afternoon so I messaged my sister and she's going to come over and we can have a chat.
