Today's swimming beach – Porthgwidden

For my morning walk I usually go trekking around St Ives to see which is the best beach for my human to have a swim. We're really lucky in St Ives to have so many fabulous beaches. Usually if the sea is choppy on one, then they'll probably be another one that is OK.
Today there were massive waves down on Porthmeor Beach and it was also very windy. However, when we turned the corner, Porthgwidden Beach seemed OK for a swim and so did Bamaluz Beach. The Harbour Beach and Porthminister Beach were even calmer, but as Ann was meeting her friend Barry (who is a volunteer coastguard watch person), after his shift in the coastguard lookout, Porthgwidden seemed like the best choice.

I didn't actually go with Ann for her swim today because I'd had two walks this morning and I needed some snooze time.

Mmmmmmmm...................... this is what Porthgwidden Beach looked like this morning. By 2pm it had massive waves. Porthgwidden Beach rarely has massive waves, but today it did. Ann did hardly any swimming today. She just did 'bobbing about' while trying to avoid all the waves that were crashing over her head. But do you know what?................. she feels like she's done the hardest workout ever. She probably wasn't even in the sea for 10 mins and she's exhausted..........................

The best thing about today's swim was........................ Barry had his car with him, so Ann got a lift up the hill. Walking home up the hill really would have been a killer?! After she'd had a shower, she had to lie down on her new sun lounger for an hour to recover. And then because she is a very nice Collie pup owner I got taken for my third walk of the day down to Porthminster Beach. Yay!
