Unbelievable.
This is the edge of the primary school playing field which adjoins our back garden. The grass is cut by a contractor, it is a large field with a few trees on the edges. The ones seen here are old apple trees from when the area was a small pig farm.
We have asked in the past if this edge could be left as a wildflower area, to no avail.
The contractor has said he has to stop weeds growing. Sometimes they strim, recently they have found it easier to use weed killer, which they claim is not harmful to children.
When I asked a member of the school staff why it couldn't be left wild, I was told that the pupils might get stung by nettles.
When it was suggested that they should be taught about plants and nature there was just a dumb stare in response.
No Mow May is dead and buried.
I give up
