Early

I knew that the clear weather was not forecast to last long today, so I was out early with Django. I made the right call as, by 07:30, the dark clouds in the west had rolled in. By the time I'd taken the long route to the Estate, it was drizzling.

After that, I dissected a badly incorrect formulation of a model that someone had wanted to solve with our software, handled some student questions and, after a late lunch, spent an hour chatting to the intern who will start her MSc project on Monday. She's not UoE, which has made things complicated, but she's very keen to work with me, so has put up with a lot of hassle, which is sweet. Then I put together an email summarizing our discussion and setting out what I want her to do next week.
