A Big Hit for Merrick

Merrick has been struggling at the plate this year, but he tagged this one. 

Perspective can be deceiving. If you showed me this picture, and I saw the ball two feet above the bat (at the juncture of the fence post and the yellow tube) I would guess that it was a pop-up to the pitcher. But, the ball sailed over the right fielder's head, and Merrick ended up with a double.

How did the team fare? We went into the last inning with a 14-7 lead, and we hit the parking lot with a 14-13 win. Whew!
